Up late...Again...

My mind is always working...figuring out the next thing...planning ahead...WAY ahead and figuring out my next genius move! LOL! I always hate staying up late dreaming and thinking and planning...yes it is fun but i will never get this sleep back and my kids have NO sympathy and theres only so much coffee can do...and yet I'm still talking to blogger land.
Anyways, I've been thinking of adding alittle more personal touches weekly. The blog view response has been wonderfully AMAZING and taken off quickly! We are so excited to really start working on some awesome things! Can't make any announcements yet but it's super fun for us so it of course will be super fun for you! So beyond our feature of the month and our normal blogger blogging for you we will be letting you into our lives in hopes that you can get to know Jessi and myself better. We both think you'll REALLY like us! ;) LOL! Talk to you soon! Get some sleep will ya! ;)
Yawn~

Honor A Mom: Monday

Honor A Mom: Leading up to Mother's Day we will honor some very special and extraordinary mom's out there. All mom's are wonderful and I sure hope everyone honors their own mom this coming Mother's Day.

We start off our week of Mom's with a very special one.
Jessi has followed her blog longer than I have but I am a HUGE fan of her blog now. And I'm just a HUGE fan of her...Jessi will agree with me. LOL.
Here is a brief overview of her story.
Her name is Ashley, she is a wonderful wife...has a wonderful family...she is a mom.
She has cancer.

She blogs daily about it. She calls it The Cancer Chronicles.
October 2011 she found out she had cancer. Starting in her uterus spreading to her liver, lungs and then regrowing in her pelvis after she had an emergency hysterectomy. Due to extreme chemotherapy and severe hair loss she decided to cut off her hair in January 2012. Her journey has been amazing, sad, cheerful, funny, moving and inspiring.  Please feel free to follow her blog, Lil Blue Boo, it is not only about her journey but about crafting, sewing, tutorials, family, kids, and life, LOVE her....she is wonderful!!!
Here is her video of her cutting her hair....the week before she was to shave her head her mom got her hair cut (Mom's Hair Cut) so her daughter wouldn't have to "go first". We should also be counting her in today's Honoring a Mom post.
"A Rite of Passage" video. (grab some tissues!)

To read the whole blog post of that day follow here to "A Rite of Passage (a video)"

Through everything she has gone through her motto is to "Choose Joy"
We love you mom's~

Handmade with Love: Mother's Day Card

My Grandma gave me this card for Mother's Day..she goes to card making classes with her girlfriends and also creates them herself. I loved this one!!!
She added a detail on bottom of top page of card, its been forever since i "scrapbooked" so i don't remember what its called but she rolled it through a thingy that cut the paper to add the scalloped edge and then she "browned"/"aged" the edge with an ink pad. (i think, lol) Then place a main, designed piece of paper over the top as your base design to create off of.
Add ribbon accent then glue/tape embellished card stock over ribbon...card stock overlaps ribbon.

Glue/tape down "MOM" scrabble letters to shaped accent then tape shape with foam tape to add a "lifted" 3D feel.

 Butterfly Detail
Butterfly Die Cut, glue/tape down only the center on back to be able to lift wings and give butterfly a 3D effect. Add a ribbon bow for accent.

She always adds a stamp detail inside card for a little extra touch.

If I come over and your missing scrabble letters I'll be happy your using them to craft! LOL!

Happy Mother's Day Card Making Fun~
